Wal-Mart: Never a dull moment!

Last Saturday I was making a routine trip to good ol' Wally World (aka Wal-Mart) and decided before I checked out I would waste some time reading the latest on the Brangelina gossip while hiding in the womens clothing section. Just when it was getting good, my celebrity gossip session was interupted when I heard "Excuse me, I don't want to freak you out or anything but I saw you and well, I thought you were cute". First off I just have to say...What a courageous young man! Secondly, there is always a first for everything and that is the first time I have ever been hit on in the Wal-Mart....well except for that one time.... ok not really. It's a first.

The List: Why I love San Diego

1. My nieces
2. We have humming birds in our yard year around!
3. Most nights you can smell the campfires blowing in off the beach. A smell that I wish someone would bottle in an aerosol spray!
4. I don't have any seasonal allergies here!!!!!! It's a miracle!!!
5. Nothing quite like a nice long run on the beach when it's low tide... my favorite days.
6. I have yet to get a mosquito bite...
7. I have a pool in my back yard... can't complain about that.
8. I can see Sea World and the ocean from my classroom... can you say AMAZING!
9. FOG!!! Most people don't care for it but have you ever driven over a bridge (Coronado Bridge) and found yourself above the clouds? Or been on the beach surrounded by a cloud of mystical fog? No? Well I have and I was mystified...no pun intended.

Two Peas in a Pod!

So when I moved to San Diego I was determined to NOT like it just because of its' well known perfect weather. So I decided to look for small but personally significant reasons to love it here. At the very top of my list and requiring no thought at all are my absolutely darling nieces that live just 20 minutes away!!! Gracie just turned 3 in May and let me tell you... I just can't get enough of her!!!!

And then there is Lydia who just turned 1 in July. I have never seen someone enjoy themselves at the beach like this girl does! On this particular day she kept literally laying her face in the sand, if that isn't obvious... I absolutely love being an Auntie (D'ntie Nen- according to Gracie).
